The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the schedule for the LAW Graduate Assessment Test (LAW GAT) 2025. If you’re an LLB graduate looking to seek Bar Council Registration, this test is mandatory for your legal career.
The LAW Graduate Assessment Test is scheduled to take place on May 11, 2025. All candidates wishing to practice law must clear this test.
Applications for the LAW GAT 2025 can be submitted online through the HEC portal. The last date to submit your application is April 22, 2025 till 4:PM
The LAW GAT is compulsory for all LLB graduates who wish to enter the legal profession and seek Bar Council Registration.
The LAW GAT 2025 will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Prepare accordingly for the assessment.
Candidates who successfully register online will be able to download their Roll Number Slip from the HEC portal a week before the test date. Keep an eye on your email and SMS for updates regarding the test date, time, and venue.
To enter the test center, you must bring the following:
A printed copy of your Roll Number Slip
Original CNIC
Ensure that you provide a valid email/mobile number while filling out the online application form, as HEC will send the test details through these mediums.
To pass the HEC Law GAT, candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks.
Candidates are allowed to attempt the test up to three times. The HEC conducts the test three times a year.
In addition to the HEC requirements, candidates must also meet any additional criteria set by the Pakistan Bar Council.

The application process involves two steps:
Profile Completion: Complete your profile in the “My Profile” section.
Application Submission: Submit your application by selecting the “Law Graduate Assessment Test” link from the menu panel of the online portal.
Please note that only applications that have been submitted will be considered for the Law GAT. Applications that are saved or incomplete will not be entertained.
Test Fee Payment: The test fee must be deposited through the 1Link 1Bill invoice payment service. Once the fee is deposited using the generated consumer number, visit the ETC dashboard and click on Verify Online Payment to confirm your payment.
